Nurse 1:
Pregnant Moms need to remember that if they are Diabetic that it is of utmost importance that they check their sugars on a regular basis and take their insulin as ordered. Only then can their Physician correctly evaluate their increased need for insulin as they progress further into their Second and Third Trimesters of their pregnancy.
Nurse 2:
Moms that have had the Diagnosis of Preeclampsia in their first pregnancy have a higher risk of developing this condition in their subsequent pregnancies. It is therefore very good if they keep an eye on symptoms of increased swelling, headaches with or without blurring of vision, any chest discomfort. If they are in the office they will be checked every visit for protein in their urine. A combination of the above symptoms with rising blood pressure must be evaluated on a regular basis.
